NYLCA is a member organization of the International Lactation Consultant Association. ILCA is a global association for health professionals who specialize in breastfeeding. ILCA and IBLCE (The International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners) function independently of each other, and ILCA acknowledges the IBLCE examination as the professional credential for lactation consultants. Membership in ILCA provides, among other benefits, subscriptions to the Journal of Human Lactation and The Globe. ILCA also compiles a list of lactation courses and programs in the USA and Canada.
