IBCLC-Facilitated Breastfeeding Groups

The following groups are run by International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs). The certification status of the IBCLCs on this list was verified as of June 21, 2009. IBCLCs must recertify every five years. Inclusion on this list does not necessarily constitute a recommendation by NYLCA. NYLCA also highly recommend you contact the facilitator of the group to verify the times and dates of the groups, particularly during holidays.

NYLCA welcomes the opportunity to post information about IBCLC-facilitated groups that are regularly held any of the five boroughs and selected nearby areas such as Long Island. Please contact sburgernutr@nyc.rr.com for information about posting a listing to our website.

La Leche League International and Other Peer Breastfeeding Support Groups

La Leche League International (LLLI) is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed. All breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women interested in breastfeeding are welcome to come to their free meetings or call theirLeaders for breastfeeding help.

NYLCA welcomes the opportunity to post links to information about peer breastfeeding support groups that are regularly held any of the five boroughs. All groups must comply with the International Code on Marketing of Breast-Milk Substitutes. Please contact sburgernutr@nyc.rr.com for information about posting a listing to our website.
