My own breastfeeding struggles with my three children made me pursue this field. I have a degree in Accounting , and worked as an Auditor for NYC Comptroller’s Office for 8 years. It took persuasion of a loving friend and 4 years of study and training to change my career.

and I take great care to accomplish this in a nurturing, compassionate manner. Wanting to breastfeed your baby is natural, but doing it, as I learned myself, doesn’t always come easy. With my extensive training and experience helping families to overcome breastfeeding challenges, I offer lactation education, assistance and support.
My practical, evidence-based approach empowers parents to make informed decisions and achieve their breastfeeding goals. For every parent and baby pair I work with, my focus is on creating an individualized plan
that helps make breastfeeding work for them, even after a rocky start.

Eden is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in private practice in New York City. She also works with breastfeeding families through New York City's Newborn Home Visiting Program and the New York City Department of Health Employee Lactation Program.
During her training, Eden participated in the Mt. Sinai Beth Israel Lactation Internship program and was supervised by some of New York City’s most experienced lactation consultants. Eden is also a certified cooperative childbirth educator (CEA/MNY) and DONA-certified labor support doula. She completed the Midwifery Assistant Training with Ina May Gaskin at The Farm and in 2010, traveled to Senegal to volunteer in a maternity clinic.

Leigh Anne O’Connor is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant with two decades of experience working with breastfeeding families. She is the past President of New York Lactation Consultant Association (NYLCA), a member of International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA), United States Lactation Consultant Association (USLCA) and a past member of the Bank Street Head Start Health Advisory Board. NIKKI (Naoko) KATSUKI, BS, IBCLC, RLC, CLC is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in Queens NY. After receiving her B.S. degree in nutrition and food science from Hunter College, City University of New York, she counseled culturally diverse participants for many years as a lactation counselor and nutritionist at WIC (Women, Infants and Children), the program of lactation and nutrition support for prenatal and postpartum women, babies and small children. She passed the advanced exam of IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) in 2009, and at almost same time, she became the CENTER MANAGER of the same program in Astoria, New York. In 2010, Nikki fulfilled her dream to have her own practice and established VITAL CHOICE INC. and still went through a mentorship of private lactation consultation by Ms. Susan E. Allison Walsh IBCLC, LCCE, FACCE is a lactation consultant, childbirth educator and postpartum doula in private practice in New York City. She has been active in the birth and parenting world since 1999, and is the mother of three children. Allison has volunteered as a La Leche League Leader since 2001. I was inspired to become a Lactation Consultant after I experienced my own breastfeeding challenges. In order to become a Board Certified Lactation Consultant, I trained at Beth Israel Hospital, the RealBirth Center and Mother-Baby Wellcare. Sorayya is a Board Certified Lactation Consultant and student midwife at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. After the life-changing births of her own babies, she began a career in birth work as a labor doula. She soon realized that she wanted to provide a broader scope of care for her clients and decided to pursue the IBCLC certification. Her training began in private practice and expanded into hospital work where she studied under an amazing group of experienced lactation consultants at Mt Sinai-Beth Israel Hospital.

I have been working in maternal-child health since graduating from nursing school. I have worked with mothers and babies in the antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, neonatal intensive care units and also providing breastfeeding support at home.

Margot Hodes considers it a privilege to play a small role in each expectant family’s big journey into parenthood. She is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) Certified Cooperative Childbirth Educator (CCCE), Full Spectrum Doula and Certified Health Education Specialist. She received her Ed.D. in Health Education from Teachers College, Columbia University and taught as an adjunct faculty member there for many years. She also has her Masters in Counseling from New York University and has worked in schools, community health centers and other non-profit agencies with parents, families and adolescents toward their goals of achieving healthier living. Margot is a board member of CEA/MNY (the Childbirth Education Association of Metropolitan New York) and volunteers her time for the Doula Project. Margot teaches Childbirth Education, Breastfeeding Preparation and Newborn Care classes privately and for Stork and Cradle and Pregnancy and Parenting. She also teachers Jewish Baby 101, a class for expectant parents who are planning to raise a Jewish child, at the Town and Village (T&V) Synagogue along with the synagogue clergy. She also runs a biweekly breastfeeding support group at T&V.

Catherine Watson Genna BS, IBCLC is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in privateCatherine is particularly interested in helping moms and babies breastfeed when they have medical challenges. She speaks to healthcare professionals around the world on assisting breastfeeding babies with anatomical, genetic or neurological problems. Her presentations and her writing feature her clinical photographs, which have also been published widely. Her team has just wrapped up a research project using ultrasound to examine tongue movements of babies with tongue-tie before and after frenotomy (office treatment) and is preparing to publish. Her current project looks at coordination of swallowing and breathing in babies with posterior tongue-tie. She is the author of Selecting and Using Breastfeeding Tools: Improving Care and Outcomes (Hale 2009) and Supporting Sucking Skills in Breastfeeding Infants (Jones and Bartlett Publishers 2008, 2nd edition Jones and Bartlett Publishers 2013) as well as professional journal articles. Catherine is still an active La Leche League Leader and runs a monthly toddler meeting in Queens as well as an online group. Catherine currently serves as Associate Editor for the United States Lactation Consultant Association journal Clinical Lactation. Her own two offspring (who were of course breastfed!) are a seminarian and a registered nurse.

Kathleen Waldow has been a registered nurse since 1981 and a board certified lactation consultant since 2001. She has worked in the areas of critical care, labor and delivery and postpartum nursery. She and her husband Steve have raised four beautiful children. She became aware of her passion for working with breastfeeding mothers thirty three years ago when she and a good friend each experienced disappointing birth experiences which were then followed by painful breastfeeding. She eventually became a La Leche League Leader where for twenty-four years she accompanied mothers as they walked the sometimes rocky path of new mothering through breastfeeding.
She presents at breastfeeding/parenting conferences on the topics of normal breastfeeding and effective communication. In 2008 she transitioned from part-time, intermittent hospital employment to her private lactation practice: Perpetua Lactation.The mission of her practice is to enable mothers to breastfeed through accurate information, effective communication, and ongoing support.Her personal vision is a world where motherhood is valued and all mothers are able to meet their personal breastfeeding goals. A former employment attorney, Sara D. Newman left the law after the birth of her first child in order to help other women through the transition to motherhood. Since forming D is for Doula, Sara has worked with parents to assist them in infant feeding issues and provide them with guidance and support.
Sara believes that the most important part of her job is to empower parents to feel confident in their parenting choices. She has experience working with transgender, same sex, and polyamorous families and is adept at addressing their particular concerns, including induced lactation and chest-feeding.
Sara is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC)
in addition to being a Postpartum Certified Doula with DONA. An experienced dog trainer and activist in the animal rescue community, Sara leads seminars on introducing established pets to a new baby in the home and helps parents to prevent jealousy between the canine and human babies. She has also used her knowledge of the law to assist women in making the transition back to work or in negotiating a change in working conditions. She is proficient in American Sign Language.
Natalie Rachmanov has been practicing medicine since 2013 as a Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C). She then became a mom in 2016 when her love for lacation and supporting breastfeeding babies developed. She completed an internship in Jamaica Hospital in lactation studies, trained by renowned professionals, became a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) in 2018, and then went on to become an international Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
Currently, Natalie works as ENT PA-C in a hospital setting, as well as provides home visits for lacation support in private practice. She’s currently working alongside Annie Frisbie from City Lactation. Natalie provides evidence based, client-centered, compassionate lactation support for her all her clients.
