The New York Lactation Consultant Association (NYLCA)

is a professional association for lactation consultants in the New York Metropolitan area. Our mission is to build professional recognition for these consultants and their services.

Our goals are to:

• Create Awareness: among parents by listing various services offered by our members and describing what they should expect from our members.
• Foster Accountability: of our members by encouraging them to abide by ethical and professional standards.
• Inspire Respect: for our members by enhancing their professional skills and knowledge through conferences, workshops, and meetings.

NYLCA is an affiliate member of the United States Lactation Consultant Association (USLCA). The USLCA is, in turn, an affiliate member of the International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA). We also coordinate with our neighboring affiliate, the Long Island Lactation Consultant Association (LILCA).
